The Fine Art of Hospitality

Being a family-owned business, community involvement and support is important to us at the Podollan Hospitality Group. This is why we choose to be involved in the communities where we do business. One of our initiatives is the Fine Art of Hospitality, which is a partnership with local artists to showcase their artwork at our properties. All artwork is for sale and the entire purchase price goes directly to the talented artist that produced it.

Where can you find the Artwork?

  • On the walls of the 65 new guest rooms at the Podollan Inn & Spa, Grande Prairie. The rooms feature a contemporary King room design and  the Podollan signature bathrooms with the elegant black tile, floor to ceiling walk in showers, and separate deep soaker tubs.
  • On the walls of the 20 new guest rooms at the Podollan Inn, Fort McMurray. The new expansion features skylights, an atrium and a contemporary King room design.
  • On the walls of Table 24 at the Podollan Inn, Salmon Arm. Table 24 is a fine dining restaurant that features farm-to-table cuisine and recipes made fresh in-house.

The Guest Experience
Enhancing the guest experience is the main focus of the Podollan Hospitality Group. The Fine Art of Hospitality project is another example of Podollan “taking guest comfort to new heights”. Original pieces by local artists enriches the guest stay and also promotes talented members of the communities where Podollan does business.

“I am very excited about our  symbiotic initiative to provide our amazing local artists an opportunity to showcase their work and also add value to our guest experience.”

The start of the Fine Art of Hospitality project

In September, 2014 The Podollan Inn & Spa – Grande Prairie & The Podollan Inn – Fort McMurray launched a Call for Submissions in conjunction with Alberta Culture Days. Peace Country & Wood Buffalo artists were invited to submit their work to be considered for The Fine Art of Hospitality, a project coordinated by Tymmarah Zehr of Allegro Events and Promotions, to provide local artwork for sale on the walls of new rooms opening November, 2014 & June 2015. This initiative showcasing talented Peace Country & Wood Buffalo artists’ work is a community initiative. We are very pleased to let our guests know that The Podollan Hospitality Group will not take any commission on sales of art. One hundred percent of the sale goes to the artist.
